Your Show's About Page and Host Bio
The About page is where a potential guest or sponsor decides whether to take you seriously. It needs to say plainly what the show is, who makes it and what it is not.
Answer four questions
- What is the show about, in one sentence?
- Who is it for?
- Who makes it, and why are they the right people?
- How can guests, listeners and partners get in touch?
Write the host bio honestly
Describe your real experience: the business you ran, the work you do, why you started the show. Do not inflate titles or borrow credibility from guests you have interviewed. If you use a pen name, say so.
Say what the show is not
A line on what you do not do is often the most useful one: you do not accept paid interviews, you do not give legal or financial advice, guests' views are their own. It sets expectations before anyone asks.
Point to the source of truth
If your show discusses rules or terms set by someone else, say that the original announcement takes priority over your summary. A compact example of an About page that does this, from a different field and in Traditional Chinese, is this short about page that explains what the site covers and states that each platform's own announcements take priority over its summaries (關於通博新手情報站). A small-business show can use the same honesty: "we explain, the original source decides".
Keep it short
Most visitors read the first paragraph and leave. Put the one-sentence description first, and link to a longer story further down for those who want it.
